Situation Update No. 01: Recent Floods and Tropical Storms Affect Five ASEAN Countries

Southwest Monsoon, Typhoon USAGI, Tropical Depression EIGHTEEN (18) and Tropical Storm WUTIP in the last two weeks have affected five ASEAN Member States; Cambodia, Lao PDR, Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam. AHA Centre has been closely monitoring the situation and up to this date (3 October, 2013), recorded that the disasters has taken 106 lives, and affected nearly 5.3 million people across the five countries.  In some areas, damage assessment and relief efforts are still being conducted by the responding agencies to help the victims.
